Royal National Lifeboat Institution

Year 1 had a very special visit from Mr Phil Ranmore from the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.Mr. Ranmore told us about all the amazing services that the RNLI provide to us for free! We learnt a lot of new facts including that an all-weather boat costs around 3 million pounds!

Danny (1LA) ‘It was fantastic, especially learning that the fog is the scariest weather for the RNLI to travel in!’

We also found out about the different flags that we will see at the beach and were reminded to always try to use beaches with lifeguards. We shared our impressive knowledge that the coxswain is the head of a lifeboat. We ended by trying on some uniforms, so now we know what and who to look for!
