Lest We Forget

We have been preparing for the Centenary Memorial of Armistice Day at school. Pupils have shared research accounts of persons who gave their lives during WW1. Mr. Gristwood led a special Commemorative Assembly Service in the school hall today after which Juniors observed two minutes’ silence. Classes laid poppy wreaths at the feet of our silent silhouette. On Monday, Google came to St Gregory’s to talk to KS2 students about their e-safety programme “Be Internet Legends”. During a 30 minutes assembly e-safety tips were shared and pupils were made aware of the importance of being kind internauts. Pupils were also shown the online game Interland, a game where children help their fellow Internauts, combat badly-behaved hackers, phishers, oversharers and bullies by practising the skills that they need to be confident online explorers. Our thanks go to Mr. Dias for organizing this great learning opportunity!
