World Book Day
St Gregory’s hosted another brilliant World Book Day this year. The pupils made a huge effort to dress up as characters from their favourite books and share their stories too. The day kicked off with ‘The Big Read In’ where classes got cosy with a book in their classrooms, playground and even corridors! All of the pupils loved the chance to just stop, drop and read. After this, pupils had a reading swap. Classes across the school joined forces and each pupil read a story (that they had written themselves) to a peer in another year group. This was so successful and the pupils loved sharing their stories, looking at each others’ costumes and exploring new characters and worlds. Finally, we hosted the Big Reading Assembly where the whole school celebrated together and performed in a costume catwalk. St Gregory’s School has never seen so many creative costumes! Thank you to all the teachers, parents and pupils who took time to make costumes, pick out books, read stories and volunteer their time for this great event.
These are just some of the great photos showing what fun we had!
